Do you think you can handle two Al(l)isons?
I am pleased to introduce you to Allison Woad (two Al.l.isons are better than one!), my newest “Workplace Shadow” – a recent grad I take under my wing and also contract client work to.
Allison is a full-time web and graphic designer from Halifax graduating with a diploma in graphic design from Holland College in Charlottetown, PEI. While studying she also dove right in with freelance for start ups and local companies/ organizations. She now focuses on helping small business owners with their online presence and marketing.
Allison peaked my interested when she started to regularly attend the WordPress Halifax Meetups. I loved her approach to web site redesigns (read: she asks the right questions!) and knew she’d be an asset to Eraserheader. Her knowledge of WordPress is impressive for a newer designer on the block. In her words:
“My experience with WordPress is varied! From hard coding to using page builders such as Visual Composer, Page Builder by SiteOrigin, and now Beaver Builder. I also setup SSL certificates and love to help sites be more optimized for speed (no small feat). I have a good understanding of UX and UI implementation (proactive in learning).
I pretty much focus on web now, but I have done print collateral and logo work when asked.”
When not poking around sites, Allison enjoys relaxing with some video games, streaming on her twitch channel, and drawing.
Allison and I have already begun projects together, and I look forward to more as we power our way into 2018!
